Solution For Disposal of Organic Waste Management

Nisargruna Technology Sharing Agreement between Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) and Vulture Innovation Private Ltd (VIPL).

Vulture Innovation & BARC have tied up for Nisargruna Biogas technology sharing agreement for the implementation of the biogas plant in Pan India to bring change in the field of Solid waste management & Waste to energy.

This segment for the treatment of the waste will help the country to manage solid waste more effectively & reduce pollution along with energy generation

BARC’s NISARG-RUNA Biogas plant

Bhabha Atomic Research Centre-BARC, a pioneer in Nuclear Programme in India developed an indigenous biogas plant to offer a “Zero garbage, Zero effluent” waste management solution.
BARC already installed two such plants on their own premised for eco-friendly waste disposal and produces biogas and high-quality manure.
This plant can be set up for Kitchens, large canteens, hospitals, hotels, and municipal corporations to dispose of their organic waste in a scientific way and obtain energy and manure.

NISARG-RUNA is based on bi-phasic bio-methanation principal which includes both aerobic and anaerobic breakdown of the organic material. The process is designed in a sequential manner to obtain a maximum breakdown of organic matter to turn them into methane-rich biogas and weed-free good quality manure.
About 70% of water can be also recycled at the end of the process.

Advantages

Nisargruna Bio Gas Plant would serve many purposes such as:-

1. Environment-friendly disposal of waste, which is the need of the hour.

2. Generation of a fairly good amount of fuel biogas, which will definitely support the dwindling energy resources. The gas can be used as fuel in the kitchen or for power generation.

3. Generation of high-quality, weed-free manure, which is an excellent soil conditioner. This is very important for replenishing organic carbon in the undernourished soil after years of agriculture.

Waste to Biogas (WTB)

Biogas – a futuristic approach toward a cleaner, greener & sustainable future.

Worldwide a large amount of biodegradable waste is generated each day and mostly lands in landfills.  This kind of waste due to further breakdown causes health problems for the surrounding area’s people.

Biogas is an eco-friendly method to mitigate the biodegradable waste of every day and act as a producer of renewable fuel.

Biogas is produced when organic matter is broken down in the absence of oxygen with the help of microorganisms.  Here organic material such as food or animal waste is processed in an enclosed environment in the absence of oxygen.

This process of breaking down of organic material into biogas is known as the Anaerobic process and it produces biogas and organic manure in liquid form.

Biogas can occur naturally or as part of an industrial process to intentionally create it as a fuel.

BIOGAS CYCLE

Waste used for biogas

Wide variety of organic waste can be turned into biogas such as animal dung, municipal waste, plant.

Electricity Generation

Biogas can be used in turbines or generators to produce electricity.

Bio-CNG

Biogas can be purified and upgraded to CNG and known as Bio-CNG.

Fuels

Biogas can be directly used as a source of cooking fuels.
