ETP, STP and WTP are not interchangeable systems. They are designed for different water streams and different treatment objectives. Choosing the correct category is the first step before capacity, technology or equipment selection.
ETP stands for Effluent Treatment Plant and is mainly used for industrial process wastewater. STP stands for Sewage Treatment Plant and treats domestic sewage. WTP stands for Water Treatment Plant and treats raw or incoming water before it is used.
The actual process inside each plant depends on water quality, contaminants, required outlet quality, flow variation, site conditions and reuse or discharge objectives.
